After more than eighteen months of war, almost everything is in short supply in the Gaza Strip. There is no end in sight to the violence. The biggest victims are the children. Childhood needs peace. Every day, UNICEF is doing everything it can to secure it.

Syrians have reason to hope for a new beginning. It remains to be seen what the regime change will mean for the civilian population, but it’s a fact that the humanitarian situation is dire for the children after many years of war. That’s why UNICEF is and will be standing by them.

Afghanistan is under threat from a humanitarian disaster: weakened by multiple crisessuch as natural catastrophes, conflicts, disease and hunger, people are battling for survival every day. More than half of the population need urgent help, including 15 million children.
