Door-to-door canvassing and information stand campaigns

Fundraisers for UNICEF Switzerland and Liechtenstein are currently going door-to-door in the Canton of Valais and manning information stands in Switzerland’s French-speaking areas. You will recognize our fundraisers by their UNICEF badges.

UNICEF Switzerland and Liechtenstein works with special agencies for these campaigns.

  • Every year, these campaigns bring in dedicated supporters whose donations help fund our work. Their long-term and dependable support enables UNICEF to help people in places where the need is greatest, every day.
  • Talking with people on their doorsteps and at information stands allows us to share news about our projects and raise awareness about child rights around the world.

Individual contact with our fundraisers gives potential donors the opportunity to learn more about UNICEF’s work and to ask questions.

  • Before fundraisers begin canvassing, they receive comprehensive training by the agency and by UNICEF Switzerland and Liechtenstein.
  • They then go door-to-door, telling potential donors about UNICEF projects and asking them to make recurring donations.
  • They are easy to recognize and carry identification as UNICEF fundraisers. You’ll find photos of the teams below.
  • If no one’s home, they try two more times, at most. The fundraisers canvass until 9 pm since many people are not at home during the day.
  • They ask only for regular financial support through pre-authorized debit transactions. For security reasons, they accept no cash or donations in kind. They also never sell products.
  • Door-to-door canvassing requires a permit – the agencies get the necessary approval from the cantons and communities and only canvass in regions where approval has been granted by the cantonal department of security.

UNICEF Switzerland and Liechtenstein places the highest demands on efficiency and transparency within the organization, and its operations have been certified in accordance with the ISO 9001 standard. The ISO certificate is an attestation to UNICEF Switzerland and Liechtenstein’s high level of quality awareness. It also demonstrates that all processes – for example fundraising for UNICEF projects, donation management and sales processes – are effective and transparent. UNICEF Switzerland and Liechtenstein is audited regularly to ensure that quality is sustainably maintained.

UNICEF Switzerland and Liechtenstein publishes its annual financial statements in accordance with Swiss GAAP FER accounting guidelines. This is the standard that ZEWO requires of its members.
